Chicago is full of venues and ways to plug in as artists. We are fortunate enough to have developed relationships with several venues. Our calendar of events will reboot this September, check back to see how you can perform, or just come out and support!

We are always putting together our resources to support artists in our network. We offer social media marketing support and help with artist website development .

Since 2014, we have led an effort to empower, inspire, and equip artists to champion social change.

Some of our Accomplishments...

  • 2017-2018 school year Coordinated S.T.E.A.M. aquaponics program for Community Youth Development Institute in the Auburn-Gresham neighborhood.
  • May 2018, Life is Poetry at Addison Public Library.
  • April 2018, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives sponsors a 4 part Slam Poetry Workshop/ Competition in Maywood, IL.
  • April 2018, ArtVibe Discussion featuring with performances by Sam Trump and WdotILL at The Velvet Lounge in the South Loop.
  • March 2018, Black Panther Movie Discussion at The Renaissance in Bronzeville. 
  • Summer 2017, Firebrand artists: Rasaan Khalil, Desi Baker, and Eric the Sage performed in Elmhurst’s YESfest
  • We taught workshops in summer camps at the Maywood Park District, and Quinn Center in spoken word and visual arts.
  • In July 2017, We launched our apparel line.
  • In February 2017, we produced and sponsored the Black History Month program for the Village of Maywood.
  •  In March 2017, We launched our video podcast!
  •  In November 2016, we held our first quarterly Artist's Meet and Greet.
  • In October 2016, our hip-hop artists performed at Operation Uplift's West Town Museum.
  • In September 2016, FAN rolled out its new series of programming, in partnership with the Quinn Center in Maywood, IL. Programming includes creative writing, sewing, vocal coaching, visual arts, and spoken arts/ hip-hop.
  • In the Winter of 2015, Firebrand launched a theater and spoken word workshop at Spencer Elementary dedicated to raising literacy rates. 
  • Firebrand published its long awaited book entitled, "Quick Guide to Editing, Proofreading, and Revising Your Writing."
  • Published articles and blogs on subject matter ranging from networking and music, even catching the attention of Chicago's own Chance the Rapper!
  • Held annual open mics and cultural programs at the Maywood Public Library every summer from 2014-2016.
